ในช่วงเวลาปัจจุบัน จะมี ณ เวลาหนึ่งที่เรากำลังทำอะไรอยู่ ช่วงเวลานั้นจะใช้ Present Continuous/Progressive Tense
มีรูปแบบดังนี้
บอกเล่า Subject + is / am / are + V.ing
คำถาม Is / Am / Are + Subject + V.ing?
ปฏิเสธ Subject + is / am / are + not + V.ing
Verb to be ใน Present Simple Tense จะเป็นกริยาแท้ของประโยค แต่ Verb t be ใน Present Continuous/ Progressive Tense เป็นกริยาช่วย กริยาแท้ที่แสดงอาการคือ Verb ที่เติม ing เช่น
I am a student. ฉันเป็นนักเรียน
I am walking. ฉันกำลังเดิน
Adverbs of Time ที่บอกจุดเวลานั้น ได้แก่
now | เวลานี้, เดี๋ยวนี้ |
at present | ปัจจุบันนี้ |
right now | ขณะนี้, เดี๋ยวนี้ |
at this time | ขณะนี้ |
at this moment | ตอนนี้ |

การทำประโยคบอกเล่าให้เป็นประโยคปฏิเสธใน Present Continuous/Progressive Tense
สามารถทำให้เป็นประโยคปฏิเสธได้โดยการเติม not หลัง verb to be ทันที

I am studying English now. | I am not studying English now. |
She is studying English now. | She is not studying English now. |
They are sitting in the room now. | They are not sitting in the room now. |
การทำประโยคบอกเล่าให้เป็นประโยคคำถามใน Present Continuous/Progressive Tense
สามารถทำให้เป็นประโยคคำถามได้โดยการนำ verb to be มาวางไว้หน้าประธาน แล้วใส่เครื่องหมายคำถาม (question mark) ที่ท้ายประโยค

She is studying English now. | Is she studying English now? |
They are sitting in the room now. | Are you sitting in the room now? |
* หมายเหตุ ถ้าประธานเป็น I เวลาตั้งคำถามจะเปลี่ยนจาก I เป็น You ซึ่งกริยาก็ต้องเปลี่ยนจาก am เป็น are
การตอบคำถามของประโยคคำถามชนิดนี้จะต้องตอบด้วย Yes หรือ No ดังตัวอย่างต่อไปนี้
