Subject + have/has + Verb (กริยาช่องที่ 3) + Object หรือส่วนขยาย
จากที่กล่าวมาแล้วว่า ภาษาอังกฤษเน้นว่า เหตุการณ์เกิดขึ้นเมื่อไร ใน Present Perfect Tense เน้นว่า เหตุการณ์เกิดขึ้นเมื่อไร เพิ่งจะสิ้นสุด หรือกำลังดำเนินต่อไป
หลักเกณฑ์การใช้ Present Perfect Tense
1. เหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นในเวลาใดเวลาหนึ่งในอดีต และยังคงดำเนินติดต่อมาถึงปัจจุบัน
2. แสดงการกระทำที่เพิ่งเกิดขึ้น และเพิ่งสำเร็จ ผลของการกระทำยังปรากฎอยู่
Adverb of time ที่แสดงว่าเป็น Present Perfect Tense ได้แก่
since | ตั้งแต่ เวลาหน่งจนถึงอีกเวลาหนึ่ง |
yet | ยัง |
for | เป็นเวลานานเท่านไร |
so far | จนกระทั่งเดี๋ยวนี้ |
just | เพิ่งจะ |
already | เรียบร้อยแล้ว |
ever | เคย |
never | ไม่เคย |
several times | หลายครั้งแล้ว |
over and over | ครั้งแล้วครั้งเล่า |
3. ใช้กับเหตุการณ์ที่เคยหรือไม่เคยทำในอดีต ซึ่งมิได้บ่งบอกเวลาที่แน่นอนเอาไว้ และมักจะมีคำวิเศษณ์ คือ ever, never, once, twice มาใช้ร่วมเสมอ เช่น
- I have never seen him before. (ฉันไม่เคยเจอเขามาก่อน )
- Have you ever been abroad? (คุณเคยไปต่างประเทศหรือเปล่า?)
- She has been to London

2. ประโยคปฏิเสธ
เติม not หลัง have/has

ย้าย have/has มาหน้าประธาน

ตอบคำถาม ด้วย “Yes” หรือ “No” โดยการใช้กริยาช่วย hasn’t (has not) หรือ haven’t (have not)

Have you lived in this house?
Yes, I have. หรือ Yes, I have lived here.
No, I haven’t. หรือ No, I haven’t lived here.
Has he ever gone to London
Yes, he has. หรือ Yes, he has ever gone there.
No, he hasn’t. หรือ No, he has never gone there.
